Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the provision of plumbing, electrical, pipe repair and air conditioning services by Curran Plumbing, Electrical, Heating and Air ("Curran", "we", "us") to clients ("you", "the client"). By engaging our services or accepting a quote, you agree to these Terms.
1. Services
We provide licensed plumbing, electrical, pipe repair and air conditioning services to residential customers across Illawarra, Shoalhaven, Sutherland Shire and Southern Highlands, NSW. All work is carried out by licensed and insured tradespeople in accordance with applicable Australian Standards, the Plumbing and Drainage Act 2011 (NSW) and the Electricity (Consumer Safety) Act 2004 (NSW).
We reserve the right to decline or discontinue work where site conditions are unsafe, where access is not provided, or where the scope of work materially differs from what was quoted.
2. Quotes & Payment
All written quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Verbal estimates are indicative only and subject to on-site inspection. A written quote will be provided before any work commences.
Payment terms: Payment is due on completion of the work for standard residential jobs. We accept cash, bank transfer (EFT) and card. For larger projects, a deposit of up to 30% of the quoted amount may be required at the time of booking to cover materials. Invoices for account clients are issued with 14-day payment terms.
Late payment: Overdue accounts may attract a late payment fee of 2% per month on the outstanding balance. We reserve the right to suspend further work pending resolution of outstanding invoices.
All prices are in Australian dollars and inclusive of GST unless stated otherwise.
3. Cancellations & Rescheduling
We ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a booking. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a cancellation fee of up to $100 to cover the cost of the scheduled booking slot and any materials ordered.
Emergency callouts that are cancelled after our team has been dispatched will be charged a call-out fee at the applicable rate.
We will endeavour to notify you as early as possible of any scheduling changes on our end. In the event of an unavoidable delay, we will contact you promptly to reschedule at a mutually convenient time.
4. Warranty
Workmanship warranty: We provide a 12-month warranty on all workmanship for standard plumbing and electrical work. If a fault arises directly from our work within 12 months of completion, we will return to rectify it at no charge.
Parts and materials warranty: Manufacturer warranties apply to all parts and equipment we supply. These vary by product — for example, most air conditioning systems carry a 5-year manufacturer warranty, and pipe relining liners carry a 50-year product warranty. Warranty documentation is provided upon completion of the relevant work.
Warranties do not cover damage caused by misuse, modification, vandalism, further work by other parties, acts of nature, or normal wear and tear. Emergency repairs carried out under unusual or restricted access conditions may carry reduced warranty terms, which will be stated on the job completion certificate.
5. Liability
Our liability to you is limited to the cost of the services provided. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or economic losses arising from the provision of our services, including loss of income, loss of use or consequential property damage, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
We carry public liability insurance. Where pre-existing conditions (such as deteriorating pipes, ageing wiring or substandard prior workmanship) affect the outcome of our work, we will advise you in advance of any risks and limitations to the extent possible.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty, term or condition, implied or imposed by any legislation (including the Australian Consumer Law) that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
6. Dispute Resolution
If you have a complaint about our services, please contact us in the first instance:
- Phone: 1300 792 082
- Email: admin@curranplumbing.com.au
We will make every effort to resolve complaints promptly and fairly. If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, either party may refer the matter to NSW Fair Trading for mediation. We commit to participating in good faith in any mediation process.
7. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising under these Terms are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
These Terms were last updated on 22 June 2025. We reserve the right to update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page.
